How to understand an english text – seven attack strategies
Read quickly through the text (What is it about?)
Read the title and predict words you will see
Say, “There are words which I know!”
Say, “I can come back to words, I don’t know!”
Say, “Elephant”, for any word you do not know and move on. Come back and replace each “Elephant”.
Spot ten keywords and link them in your mind.
Read the first sentence and the last sentence and guess, what’s in the middle.
